Fresh out of the April gate and already my poetic cohorts have gifted me with some beautiful words.

From Dick Lewis, scholar and poet

April Sermon

Blessed are they who laugh freely.

Life’s nonsense will ever be fleeting.

Blessed are all those who listen:

They shall have a chance at wisdom

Blessed are they who sing together:

Theirs is the kingdom of one another.

Blessed is the awkwardness of truth,

It is how the world keeps faith.

Blessed is the acceptance of decay.

Hard to do but do it anyway.

Blessed is the monster and its laughter:

It must be slain though more come after.

Blessed are the deliberate and slow.

They will understand what others only know.

Blessed are they who forgive and forbear.

In them is a world without war.
