I love hats. Maybe it’s in the blood because so do my sisters and I had a relative who was a milliner for Marshall Field’s a storied department store in downtown Chicago (fond memories of the Walnut Room!). My sister, Carolyn, has Cousin Jeannie’s old supplies including her hat forms.
Judith, my role model at Style Crone,, has instituted a monthly “hat attack” and this is my first post. I’m wearing a hat I made from silk men’s tie material and a velvet skirt I upcycled from Goodwill. It didn’t turn out quite how I wanted it as I was trying to recreate another hat of similar style. But it looks good enough for compliments apparently.
